Our sleepaway horse summer camp is designed for kids who want a meaningful, hands-on experience with horses. Campers spend their days riding, learning horse care, and developing real horsemanship skills in a supportive overnight camp setting.
• Daily riding and hands-on horse care
• Small groups for safety and confidence

Our sleepaway horse summer camp offers daily riding experiences designed to be fun, confidence-building, and appropriate for each camper’s experience level.
Campers with prior Western or Hunter/English riding experience, from novice to intermediate, enjoy a variety of group riding activities such as horseback games, trail rides, bareback riding, and in-hand trail challenges. These activities are designed to deepen the camper’s connection with the horse while keeping the focus on fun and enjoyment rather than formal lesson structure.
For beginners with little or no riding experience, activities focus on building a balanced, independent seat and learning how to communicate clearly with the horse using correct basic aids. Campers are guided in a supportive group setting that emphasizes safety, confidence, and understanding the horse, rather than traditional lesson pressure.
This overnight horse camp is designed to foster joy, confidence, and a positive relationship with horses, rather than focusing on formal riding instruction.

Our Horse Care and Barn Management program gives campers a true understanding of what it means to care for a horse. Each camper is assigned a horse or pony for the duration of the session, helping them develop responsibility, confidence, and a meaningful connection with their animal.
Campers participate in daily barn routines with age-appropriate guidance and support, especially for beginners. Activities are supervised to ensure safety while allowing campers to experience real-life horse care.
- Feeding hay and grain in the morning and afternoon
- Checking, cleaning, and refilling fresh water buckets
- Cleaning stalls and small attached paddocks
- Grooming and performing daily horse health checks
By the end of the session, campers gain a deeper appreciation for the work involved in horse ownership—and discover how rewarding and fun caring for horses can be.

In addition to riding and horsemanship, campers enjoy a variety of changing daily activities throughout the week. These activities are designed to keep camp fun, engaging, and balanced while encouraging creativity, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of horses.
Activities vary by day and may include:
- Groundwork training and in-hand exercises
- Bathing and caring for horses
- Horse-themed scavenger hunts
- “Horse show without horses” activities
- Other fun and educational camp games planned for the 2026 season
Daily activities rotate throughout the week, ensuring campers experience something new each day while keeping the schedule flexible and exciting.

Vaulting and trick riding are special equestrian activities offered as part of our sleepaway horse summer camp, designed to build confidence, balance, flexibility, and body awareness in a fun and supportive group setting.
Vaulting is introduced at a beginner level using our wooden vaulting horse. This allows campers to safely develop balance, coordination, and body control while learning fundamental vaulting movements. Vaulting activities are taught as group sessions and focus on confidence-building rather than performance.
Trick riding is one of the most popular activities at our overnight horse camp. Campers practice beginner-level trick riding skills that encourage confidence, flexibility, and self-belief in a safe, supervised environment.
Vaulting is offered on Thursdays, and Trick Riding activities take place on Tuesdays.

Our horsemanship workshops are an important part of the sleepaway horse summer camp experience, giving campers hands-on opportunities to learn essential equine care skills and horse knowledge in a fun, engaging environment.
Through interactive group workshops, campers build confidence and understanding as they learn how to care for horses both in and out of the saddle.
- Performing basic horse health checks and learning equine first aid basics
- Bathing and grooming horses correctly
- Understanding horse show preparation, including tack cleaning and presentation
During select camp weeks, special guest professionals may join our overnight horse camp to share their expertise. Guests may include equine veterinarians, farriers, or equine dental professionals, offering campers valuable insight into horse care and equestrian careers.
Horsemanship workshops are designed to be interactive, educational, and enjoyable, helping campers deepen their connection with horses while learning skills they can carry with them beyond camp.

Evenings at our sleepaway horse summer camp are designed to help campers relax, have fun, and build friendships after a full day with the horses.
